Spring is here! I already got my first bird of the season. Okay, okay, I should say we. Mei Mei scared the bird in my direction and then I swooped him up. This was on Monday, the first day of the week. and the day Mama was coming home from carnivale. Imagine her pleasure when she got to the house and there was a beautiful brown present waiting for her! Birds! I'm looiking down from the Rainbow Bridge and remembering the Birds! Mom tried to help them (and not ME!) by forcing me to wear a bell collar. But I fooled them all. I was very ballerina-like in my movements. I ran, climbed, attacked, captured and there was awesome silence in my every move. What success I had! Mom even grudgingly praised my prowess.

Suzie taught me everything she knew about stalking birds. It was fine, it was wonderful! In our California hill house it was very successful.
ReplyDeleteThen we moved to Florida. No hills, few trees. But, OH, the birds! As well as the ordinary birds, I saw the huge grey birds with legs many times higher than my head. I WANT that great grey bird. Chasing birds is what I do, it's what I am. When they SQUAKKK, my ears ring, but that's OK. I WANT that bird. To have it in my mouth is my greatest desire. There ccould be nothing better in life than to bring one of those trophies to Mom!
